One Lord One Spirit

Mark 12:29, 30

Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’”

Ephesians 4:4-6

There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

If there is one Lord and one Spirit then why do so many believers disagree with each other on so many issues?

The answer is…

These “believers” have not truly been born again and the Spirit (the Shekinah) does not dwell within them. Or,

These believers are not listening for the voice of the Spirit but are instead listening to the voice of their own wisdom (the wisdom of the flesh).

1 Kings 19:12, 13

After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.  When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 

The Spirit speaks to us with the sound of a gentle blowing. The voice of the Spirit is easily drowned out by the voice of our own wisdom (the wisdom of the flesh).

The next time you and I find ourselves disagreeing with a fellow believer we must ask ourselves…

Have I truly been born again of the Spirit? Or,

Am I listening for the voice of the Spirit?

Have you been born again of the Spirit?

Are you listening for the voice of the Spirit?

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.”

There are many people who think they have been born again but one day Jesus will declare to them “I never knew you”.

So…
