Evolution

Genesis 1:3
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Genesis 1:6
Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”

Genesis 1:9
Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:11
Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:14, 15
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:20, 21
Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.” God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:24
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

It was the Lord our Creator who established the laws of physics which govern the Universe - from quarks and gluons at the sub-atomic level to stars and galaxies at the cosmic level. Without the laws of physics the Universe could not exist.

The laws of physics control all chemical reactions which in turn controls all biology, all life, on earth. Without the laws of physics life could not exist.

The laws of physics allow for the process of evolution - the process of changing, adapting, growing and maturing - the process which allows life to survive in earth’s constantly changing environment. Without evolution life runs the risk of becoming extinct.

And just as life must evolve biologically in order to survive you and I must evolve spiritually in order to survive. We must learn to change, adapt, grow and mature as we walk with our Father each day of our lives.

Romans 8:29
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

As you and I evolve spiritually we become conformed to the image of His Son in the process.

So…

Are you evolving spiritually (or are you at risk of becoming extinct)?
