Jesus’ Deity

Some people say that Jesus was a good man but that He was still just a man…

John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Not bad for just a man.

Some people say that Jesus was a great teacher but that He was still just a man…

Colossians 1:15-17
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Not bad for just a man.

Some people say that Jesus was a prophet but that He was still just a man…

Hebrews 1:1-4
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.

Not bad for just a man.

Some people say that Jesus was just a man…

John 17:5
“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”

Jesus says that He was with the Father before the world was - before Genesis 1:1, before the Creation, before the Big Bang, before time began.

Jesus says…

Revelation 22:13
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

So…

Jesus - just a man? Really?
