Symphony Orchestra

An analogy…

The life of a believer is like being a musician in a symphony orchestra.

The musicians don’t play their instruments all at the same time. Instead, each musician listens to the music, follows the lead of the first violinist and watches the conductor who gives them their cue when to start playing.

If all the musicians just played on their own they would make nothing but noise. But if the musicians played together in harmony they would make a beautiful sound.

In our analogy the Father is the Conductor, Jesus is the first Violinist and the Holy Spirit is the Music.

You and I must learn to pay attention to the Conductor, follow the lead of the first Violinist, listen to the Music and play together with our fellow musicians.

Psalms 143:10
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

John 8:12
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Revelation 3:13
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

1 Corinthians 3:8 (New Living Translation)
The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work.

So…

Are you a musician in the Father’s symphony orchestra?

Are you following the lead of Jesus?

Can you hear the music of the Spirit?

Are you working together with your fellow musicians?
