Your Will Be Done

Matthew 6:9, 10
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven’”.

When Jesus said “Your will be done” He was not making a request or offering a suggestion. He was stating an immutable fact, an absolute certainty. He was speaking of the very nature and purpose of God Himself.

Matthew 12:50
“For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

And not only will the Father’s will be done on earth but He invites you and me to join Him in doing His will.

Matthew 3:8, 9
“Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham.”

Luke 19:39, 40
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”

But even if you and I decline the Father’s invitation to do His will, His will will still be done - even if He has to raise up stones to do it.

So…

Will you join the Father in doing His will?

Or will He have to resort to stones?
