Blasphemy

Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”

Many of us have probably heard this passage where Jesus knocks on the door of the non-believer asking to be invited into their heart and life.

However, instead of Jesus knocking on the door of the heart of the non-believer imagine for a moment that it is the Holy Spirit knocking on the door of the heart of the believer, speaking to you and me by the sound of a gentle blowing.

Matthew 12:31, 32
“Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.”

For the non-believer the consequence of not listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit as He knocks on the door of their heart is death and damnation.

But for the believer who does not heed the knock of the Holy Spirit the consequence will not be death and damnation, but rather it will be the loss of all of the good and wonderful things that the Father desires to give you and me - had we only listened to the knock of the Holy Spirit and opened the door of our heart to Him.

So…

Is Jesus knocking on the door of your heart?

Is the Holy Spirit knocking on the door of your heart?

Will you open to Him?
