Jesus Was There

John 6:38
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”

How do we know that Jesus came down from heaven?

Think about what it would be like to walk on the moon. We might be able to imagine what it would be like but because we have never been there we cannot know for sure.

Now suppose you asked Neil Armstrong what it was like to walk on the moon. He would be able to tell you with confidence, authority and absolute certainty what it was like to walk on the moon because he was actually there.

Matthew 7:28, 29
When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

When Jesus spoke He spoke with confidence, authority and absolute certainty. When Jesus spoke He spoke as if He was actually there.

The next time you read something Jesus has said read not only what Jesus said but read how Jesus said what He said. And you will discover that when Jesus speaks He speaks as if He was actually there.

So how do we know that Jesus came down from heaven?

John 1:1, 2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

We know that Jesus came down from heaven because He was actually there.

So…

Have you been there?
