Compassion

Hebrews 10:30
For we know Him who said, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.”

All too often when we think of God we think of Him as a wrathful and vengeful God who carries out judgment upon the earth. However, God is also a compassionate God…

Genesis 19:15, 16
When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.” But he hesitated. So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the LORD was upon him; and they brought him out, and put him outside the city.

It was the compassion of the Lord which caused Him to send His angels into Sodom and rescue Lot from the punishment of the city.

1 John 4:9, 10
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

It was the love and compassion of God which caused Him to send His only begotten Son into the world so that you and I might live through Him.

Unfortunately, there are many believers today who do not believe in the compassion of God. They think He will not send His angels to rescue His Bride from the destruction of Babylon like He sent His angels to rescue Lot from the destruction of Sodom.

God is not only a God who executes justice on the earth but He is also a God of compassion.

So…

How compassionate is your God?
