Fear Not

There are two ways to get a person to do something.

The first way is through fear. Adolf Hitler is an excellent example of someone who motivated people by using fear.

The second way is through love. Jesus is the ultimate example of someone who motivates people by His love.

Fear (and guilt which is just another form of fear) is one of the most powerful weapons in Satan’s arsenal.

If there is something in your life or my life which we are doing out of fear (or guilt) then something is not right and we must step back, re-evaluate the situation and give it to the Lord.

1 John 4:16-18
We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

If you and I can truly comprehend the love that Abba has for us then there is nothing you and I need to fear.

Luke 2:10, 11 (English Standard Version)
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

So...

What are you afraid of?
