Taught by the Father

Luke 2:52

And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

John 8:28

So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.”

Jesus did not know everything there is to know instantaneously at birth. As Jesus grew up He increased in wisdom and was taught by the Father.

John 16:13

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (the Shekinah) you and I can also increase in wisdom and be taught by the Father. The Spirit can guide us and disclose to us what is to come.

But how does the Spirit guide us and disclose to us what is to come?

1 Kings 19:12

After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.

The Spirit can teach us and guide us when we learn to quiet our flesh and listen for the sound of a gentile blowing - the voice of the Spirit.

John 14:26

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
