The Power of Truth

There is a difference between knowledge, wisdom and truth.

Knowledge is the memorization of facts and figures.

Wisdom is the understanding of how knowledge works and fits together.

Truth goes far beyond knowledge and wisdom. In truth there is power

Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

When the Spirit of God spoke it was the truth in His words which let there be light. It was the truth in His words which brought the universe into existence. The power of truth can alter reality.

Mark 4:39
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.

When Jesus spoke it was the truth in His words which calmed the sea. The power of truth can alter reality.

John 11:43, 44
When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

When Jesus spoke it was the truth in His words which raised Lazarus from the dead. The power of truth can alter reality.

John 14:16, 17
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”

John 15:26
“When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,”

John 16:13
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

Jesus often referred to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of truth and He was speaking of the power of the Spirit. It is the power of the Spirit, the power of His truth, which can alter our reality.

John 4:23, 24
“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

You and I must learn to worship the Father in spirit and truth. Because when we can do this the Spirit will give us His truth, the Spirit will give us His power and the Spirit will alter our reality.

So…

Do you worship in spirit and truth?

Has your reality been altered?
